Christmas is a special time of the year in all families. Some families and individuals, however, find it hard to cope with everyday needs, let alone provide the extras that go with this time of the year. The Salvation Army in Staple Hill works in partnership with Socials Services teams across South Gloucestershire to identify those most in need of a little boost. We are then able to prepare gift parcels for those under 18 years of age and food parcels for the whole family. Last year we managed to help over 2000 people in our locality! Absolutely amazing!
In the foyer of our building each December we have an Angel tree, filled with labels containing the age and gender of a child who needs a gift. People are encouraged to take a label and buy a suitable brand new gift. We also have an annual Sunday toy service and accept kind donations from a number of schools, churches, clubs and organisations. We never have enough gifts, but due to financial donations we are able to buy those we still require. This makes the world of difference to families, thank you.
CHRISTMAS 2022
We are again running our Christmas Toy Appeal. Full details can be found in our information leaflet HERE
Our deadline for collection is Monday 5th December 2022 – so we have to move fast. Thank you for being part of our success every year in bringing joy to those families who would otherwise literally have nothing for Christmas.
