NOTICE – 30TH JUNE 2017
Very sad to announce that due to a lack of volunteer leaders, this group has to close.
The Brownies are all being accommodated in local Brownie Packs.
A sad end to what has been a really great, fun, group.
The last Brownie Pack meeting is on Monday 10th July 2017.
46th Kingswood Salvation Army Brownies meet every Monday.
The Brownies are aged 7 to 10 years and we base our activities around the Brownie Guide Promise (recently updated):
‘I promise that I will do my best,
To be true to myself and develop my beliefs,
To serve the Queen and my community,
To help other people and
To keep the Brownie Guide Law’
The Brownie Guide Law:
‘A Brownie Guide thinks of others before herself and does a good turn every day.’
The Brownies work towards badges which they display on their sashes. Recent badges have included, Big Heart Challenge, the Washing Up Badge, Chocolate Challenge and Shaun the Sheep. We love playing games and sharing in our Show and Tell times which is important and encourages each child to speak out within the group. We always have lots of fun whilst learning and we really enjoy crafts.
We take part in local events with other Girlguiding groups in the area and have also joined in regional events. We have recently celebrated 100 years of Girlguiding within the Salvation Army which is particularly special.
The majority of our Brownies progress from the Rainbow unit on site with a waiting list. To register a child for a place for either group, please visit: https://enquiryym.girlguiding.org.uk (This link should only be used if the child is new to Girlguiding)
